Adenium, also known as Desert Rose is a slow growing plant with bonsai look gives an extra beauty to your garden. Adenium can be grown in our climate either indoor or outdoor.
I have purchased four adeniums from an online seller. We have to do a background check of the seller before buying the plant. You can connect with people who already bought plants from the seller or check their reviews. This is the first thing you should keep in mind before buying the plant. It's not only for adenium, for all plants you have to do this.
Once you got the plant via courier or any other transport mode, you have to remove the packing and keep the plant in shade for two days. This will ensure the plant got enough oxygen to reduce the packing stress.
Keep the plant in fungicide mixed water for fifteen minutes to get avoid fungal infections happened during the transportation.
Prepare the potting mix with 30% coco peat, 30% compost and 30% river sand and 10% garden soil. Using coco peat helps to maintain moisture in the soil. River sand improves aeration and faster water drainage.
Place the plant in the soil by keeping caudex on top of the soil. Water them thoroughly. Keep the plants in shade for two weeks for better root growth.
Allow the plant to get sunlight for around two three hours in the next one week. Then we can keep the plants in full sun.
Do not give any fertilizer for one month. After that feed the plant with organic or chemical fertilizer once in a month. Allow the plan to grow well. If the plant is having only one stem,. prune it after one month. Feed the plant with decomposed cow manure as it contain essential nutrients for the healthy growth of new shoots.
