Growing roses for beginners does not have to be a difficult task. In truth, practically anyone can become a good rose gardener with proper planting and care.
It's essential to find an area that gets at least six hours of sun each day for growing roses. They must also be situated on good, well-drained soil. Fertilize them on a regular basis to ensure more flowering.
To keep the soil moist, water them evenly. Early in the spring, prune established rose plants. Keep an eye out for illnesses such as powdery mildew or black spot.
Potting Mix for Rose plant
Roses are heavy feeders that need a lot of nutrients to keep blooming and growing. For
the best combination, mix together in equal amounts: potting soil,
compost, cow manure and coco peat. You
can also add a cup of perlite for added drainage and an additional cup
of bone meal for fertilizing. Always plant Roses in large containers because the roots tend to spread rapidly. In case your pot or container is small the rose plant will not grow properly.Transplanting your rose plants to bigger pots will ensure more root space and longer lasting rose plants.
Pruning
Pruning is one of the most significant aspects of rose cultivation, since it affects blossom and quality.
All dry, sick, weak, and crisscross shoots are removed during pruning.
Any suckers that sprout from the root stocks are removed as well.
Water Requirements
During the growing season, rose plants require enough water. To keep the soil moist, water them evenly.
Gardeners who deal with sandy soil will notice that their roses require a little more water than those who work with clay soil.

Rose root-stocks are usually grown from mature stem cuttings. This is the most cost-effective way of rose propagation. To propagate roses using this method, you need to select a healthy rose plant and cut off a stem. The stem should come from the top and side of the plant, and it should have at least three leaves on it.
Cut off any withered flowers and new buds where they attach to the stem. Dip the lower portion of the cutting into a rooting hormone powder. Place the cut end of the stem in to the potting soil and cover the stem with plastic jar. Make sure the cutting gets plenty of sunlight to grow.
Insects and pests
Mites are very common on rose. They first appear on lower surface of leaves, and may ultimately cowl the entire leaf, stem and after someday whole plant with their net.
To make a homemade spray to get rid of mealy bugs, aphids, scale, spider mites, or white flies, mix 1 tsp vegetable oil with 1 tsp baby shampoo or dish washing liquid, add a tsp of baking soda to a large cup of water, mix well, and pour into a spray bottle.Use this spray all over the rose plant, making sure to reach beneath the leaves as well. Leave it for an hour and then rinse it down with a hose. Repeat this process twice a week until the pests are gone.
