Adenium Monsoon Care

Today we will discuss on the top tips and solutions can apply during monsoon in order to protect it from all problems. Generally, for most plants, rain water has a lot of benefits than ordinary water. Also, growth of plants are accelerated during monsoon and they appear lusher, greener and cleaner in rainy season.
There are many reasons why rain water is more suitable for plants than normal pipe water, but the most important one is that rain water is free of chlorine and fluoride which will prevent leaf burning and yellowing.

Adenium and succulent plants must be protected during rainy season to prevent them from stem and root rotting. Follow the below steps to save your adenium from rotting and fungal infections.

Keep the plants in a shelter

This is the first and important step we have to do during monsoon to protect it from rotting in rains especially it's raining heavily or almost daily. You can either make a Polly house or cover the pot with plastic and wire tightly around the stem. This will not allow the water to go inside the pot.

Check the soil

This is another important thing we should check during monsoon. Check whether the soil drains the water fully. Check the pot drainage holes as well to confirm that the pot is draining the the water fully. Loose the soil without affecting the roots will also makes the water to flow out fast. Also, do not fertilize the plant during monsoon. Nitrogen in the air very high during rainy season.

Use of Fungicide

You have to use fungicide in many situations in rainy season. Firstly, spray fungicide at the early stages of monsoon and if it raining frequently, spray once in a week. Also if you are re potting adenium, you can water your adenium plant leaves, stem and root with a very dilute solution of fungicide.

Remove the weeds

During monsoon, your adenium pot may have more weeds compared to other seasons. Loosen the soil every two weeks and remove the weeds. If you don't take care of this, your pot may have full of weeds and it reduces the growth your plant.

Also, during rainy season the plant leaves and buds may fall down. You don't need to worry about it. This is common during monsoon. You have to throw the leaves which are fallen to the pot to avoid fungal infections.
